Marketplace privacy notice
Information covered
The marketplace collects identifiers and contact information, service address, HVAC issue and urgency, requested date and time, consent records, communications, and limited technical, security, fraud-prevention, and transaction records. Payment-card details are collected by Stripe rather than stored by HVAC Agent.
Homeowner SMS intake, SMS status updates, browser request tracking, and Web Push notifications are retired. Historical consent, suppression, verification, and delivery records may be retained only for audit, security, legal, and dispute purposes.
To select an appropriate state landing page without a browser permission prompt, the service may use an approximate state derived from the request's IP address. HVAC Agent does not request GPS coordinates for this routing step. The selected state may be kept in the current browser session, but the routing endpoint does not retain the state or IP address in an HVAC Agent location profile. The service address you later provide during a request is handled separately as described in this policy.
How the information is used
Information is used to receive and validate a request, detect duplicates or abuse, find eligible contractors, present a privacy-limited lead preview, complete a purchase, disclose the full request to the single successful buyer, support the homeowner and contractor, keep audit records, secure the service, and comply with legal obligations.
HVAC Agent does not send homeowner status notifications. After a successful purchase, the independent HVAC company receives the callback details supplied during the voice request and may contact the homeowner directly.
When information is disclosed
Before successful payment, an offer is limited to service type, general area, urgency, requested window, and a redacted issue summary. After successful payment, the name, phone, full service address, issue, and requested time may be disclosed to one purchasing contractor under the homeowner's affirmative consent. Information may also be handled by infrastructure, communications, payment, security, professional-adviser, and legally required recipients acting for the stated purposes.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.
Service request status
Your service visit will be confirmed when the local HVAC company calls before heading your way and you confirm you're home and ready for the technician's arrival.
Sale or sharing treatment
Because a contractor pays for exclusive lead access, some state laws may classify the disclosure as a sale, sharing, or another regulated transfer. HVAC Agent applies the required notice, opt-out, authorization, and state-availability controls before intake is enabled in a launch state.
Retention and security
Private marketplace fields are designed to be encrypted separately from public lead previews, with access tokens, audit records, suppressions, and encrypted PostgreSQL backups. Data is retained under the applicable operational, tax, dispute, security, and deletion requirements and is deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.
Your choices and requests
The retired SMS and app-notification programs cannot be newly enabled by a homeowner. Historical opt-out and suppression records remain honored. Depending on applicable law, a person may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain, or opt out of certain uses of personal data. HVAC Agent may verify identity and authority before completing a privacy request.

This notice applies to the HVAC Agent lead marketplace. Legacy service records may also be governed by the separate company privacy policy that applied when collected.
